The Preaching Tree
Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.
Hermann Hesse (1877–1962)

Thank you, Tina!
they do speak, don’t they? and they are ever-constant in their counsel.
I love trees. I’ve read that they remember the thoughts and feelings of all those who rest beneath them.
that’s nice to know and it does ring true. they have been the best comforters i have ever known. maybe because they can read us so well. thank you for that insight.
